It’s that time of year! (for a recap meme inspired by Sundry.)  My old recaps are here – 201020112012, 201320142015, 2016.

1. What did you do in 2017 that you’d never done before?

I walked in the Women’s March.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I did keep some of them! They were more goals than ‘resolutions’ but potato potahto.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

I know a few women from TLI who had babies, and my co-worker had a sweet baby girl who I try to steal every time she comes to the office.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

My cousin’s wife died. I got to see her in June in Los Angeles and she was so happy to be sharing a big, lovely adventure up the coast of California with her kids and husband and I was delighted to spend a short amount of time with her. Her absence has created a crater in our family.

5. Where did you travel?

I went to Phoenix, Minneapolis, and Seattle.

6. What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?

More confidence in myself. I keep letting myself be crippled by self doubt and I might need a life coach or a therapist to help me figure it out this year.

7. What dates from 2017 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

January 20th, 2017. The day a person so abhorrent I can’t even believe it, was inaugurated as our 45th President.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I got my first Supervising Producer credit on a new Bravo series!

9. What was your biggest failure?

My financial situation.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

I did something to my back that caused excruciating pain and I hope to get to a better health place next year to avoid something similar.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

My plane ticket to be with my family at my cousin’s wife’s funeral.

12. Where did most of your money go?

Childcare. Now and until both children are in public school. And credit card debt.

13. What did you get really excited about?

Going to see my sister and Cassie in Scottsdale for our annual Ladies’ Retreat.

15. Compared to this time last year, are you:

– happier or sadder? Angrier isn’t a choice? I’m way angrier.

– thinner or fatter? Way fatter.

– richer or poorer? Way poorer.

16. What do you wish you’d done more of?

Writing. Same as last year.

17. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Spending money.

18. How did you spend Christmas?

I’m posting this before Christmas, but I’ll probably make Chicken and Dumplings on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day we’ll open presents and then go to S’s daughter’s house for brunch/lunch.

19. What was your favorite TV program?

I loved The Crown, Dark, Stranger Things 2, Broadchurch and even though it is always very uneven, Saturday Night Live.

20. What were your favorite books of the year?

Homegoing, The Red Rising Trilogy,

21. What was your favorite music this year?

Hmmm… Hamilton still? I don’t really know. I listen to a lot of MSNBC in the car now.

22. What were your favorite films of the year?

I liked Get Out, Baby Driver and Atomic Blonde. And those were the only new movies I saw this year.

23. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I turned 41 this year, and after feeling terrible the whole day because of Trump, I honestly don’t remember what I did.

24. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

PRESIDENT HILLARY FUCKING CLINTON (same as last year)

25. What was the political issue you that stirred you?

Resisting the Right.

26. What kept you sane?

Zoloft.

27. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2017.

Just when you think the Republicans can’t sink any lower, they endorse a pedophile for the US Senate. Republicans can always sink lower.
