Week 29 of 52

Read to the boys every day.

Moses got Dragons Love Tacos 2 The Sequel, so we read that a lot and that lead to reading the first a lot. And it’s a delightful and absurd book.

Read 25 books (25/25) (not related to above) COMPLETED! YAY!

I finished the Scribble, Scribble part of  Crazy Salad and Scribble, Scribble by Nora Ephron, completing this goal! YAY! My library hold on Homegoing just came in! I am also starting Beautiful Losers. So, that’s what’s on deck.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

Go to the gym 30 times (25/30)

I managed one time this week. I’m kind of embarrassed that I haven’t even averaged once a week, but whatever.

15 minutes of standing for every hour sitting at work

Lots of reasons for not doing any this week, none of them good.

Floss every day

Eh. whatever.

Eat vegetables one time a week (29/52)

So many beets! Beets are vegetables, right? Doesn’t matter, because there was kale and roasted veggies too. BOOM.

Break phone addiction (phone off at 10pm at night and away when I’m not taking pictures or checking email at home)

Haven’t crushed any candy in a while.

Get acupuncture 5 times (1/5)

Have to make an appointment soon. Maybe that will be on my list to do this coming week.

Go on 10 dates with S (7/10)

Go away without the kids with S

Week 28 of 52

Read to the boys every day.

I pulled a book out that we hadn’t read in a while, Sam and Dave Dig a Hole, and that is one weird-ass book. It’s like House of Leaves for kids.

Read 25 books (24/25) (not related to above)

I finished the Crazy Salad part of Crazy Salad and Scribble, Scribble by Nora Ephron and even though now my Goodreads and this page will not match, it was published as a different book, so I’m counting it.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

Nothing new here.

Go to the gym 30 times (24/30)

I didn’t make it this week. But I am doing a HUGE party for Moses today at a park where I have to schlep a ton of shit to the picnic site, so, I feel like I’ll definitely be getting at least one work out.

Week 27 of 52

My first baby, my Mosie, my little lovebug, turns 5 tomorrow. 5 years went by in a flash. I expect the next to go by faster. Excuse me while I go cry for a minute.

Read to the boys every day.

We finally got a mattress for the other half of the un-bunked bunk bed and Moses and Manny are room sharing now! So, since I had to do a little re-arranging, I went to work on the book bins and pulled out a few that had been forgotten in the living room. Stellaluna was one of them. Moses saw the cover and was like, “UGH, this one is so boring!” and then requested it again the next night. And the next night. And all the nights. Kids…

Read 25 books (23/25) (not related to above)

I finished Travels with My Aunt. I started reading that book LAST YEAR, and kept coming back to it here and there. I really liked the story and it felt like something that could be a great BBC miniseries. Maybe it is? Oh, just checked, it was adapted to film by George Cukor with Lou Gossett Jr! Ok, now I have to watch it. But also, they should make it into a miniseries. I started Crazy Salad and Scribble, Scribble by Nora Ephron because I’ve been obsessed with Good Girls Revolt on Amazon. And it is two books in one, so I SHOULD get credit for reading two books when I’m finished, but I won’t. And that is an INJUSTICE. My Homegoing audio book expired before I could finish, and I requested the hard copy from the library instead. I’m like 300 on the list, so it might be a while before I can get back to it.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

Nothing new here.

Go to the gym 30 times (24/30)

Break phone addiction (phone off at 10pm at night and away when I’m not taking pictures or checking email at home)

On Saturday I just kept my phone in the charger and didn’t use it except at the gym. And for a little while to decompress while the children were playing ball in the house with their father which I have expressly said to not do. I’m such a Jan.

Week 26 of 52

HALF WAY THERE.

I should have put get rid of all of my old electronics on this list. I mean, I still haven’t done it, but I’m currently wiping my first iBook’s hard drive. A process that the computer says will take 40 minutes, but who knows! Old electronics are the worst. I checked again after working on this post for a bit, it went up to 7 hours! Ha!

Read to the boys every day.

I missed one night because Manny was puking and whenever there’s a puke bug in my house, I go full Red Zone and no one is allowed to touch the infected.

Read 25 books (22/25) (not related to above)

Still listening to Homegoing.  I finished The Girls, I really struggled with the middle but the last 125 pages were amazing, really liked this book.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

Nope.

Get a mammogram (COMPLETED 6/27/17)

DONE. That was kind of weirdly intense. It was slightly ouchie, but nothing terrible. The whole seeing how much your boobs weigh thing, is crazy. Let’s just say… both of them together = more than one of my children. Which brings me to that next goal…

Go to the gym 30 times (23/30)

Oh, so, I didn’t make it to the gym. I’ve been logging my food on myfitnesspal again, and wow is that depressing.

15 minutes of standing for every hour sitting at work

Week 25 of 52

Read to the boys every day.

We read every night this week, and I finally read this Snakes book that we got from Scholastic about a month ago. I learned a lot, guys.  There is a farting snake. It farts to scare away predators. Why is this snake not a character in a major motion picture?

Read 25 books (20/25) (not related to above)

I finished Faithful Place on audio and it’s no The Likeness, and the narrator wasn’t my favorite, even though he did have an Irish accent, but it’s a good engrossing read.  I started Homegoing on audio and I’m thinking it’s one I should read. As I was listening and heard that it was about the Ashanti people, I was like oo!  Anansi the Spider, which is one of the boys’ books and then she even mentioned the legend in the book. I made some major headway in  The Girls but still have about 100 pages to go.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

Had to change my appointment because of a network screening at the office. This week? Will it happen?

Week 24 of 52

Happy Father’s Day to those of you who have dads (?) or are dads? I don’t know, who am I supposed to wish this to? Whatever. My husband isn’t my dad (but he could be, zing!) and I wished him happy Father’s Day. So, there you go. I tried to call my dad, but he doesn’t use his cell phone as if it were a phone you can take places, so, he missed my call.

Read to the boys every day.

I missed two, maybe three days. Also, on Saturday I got so mad at my kids I took all of their toys away. Yes.  All of them. I put them in my room. Then today I was so annoyed that my room was full of toys I gave all of them back to them. I’m truly the worst mother. Happy Father’s Day!

Read 25 books (20/25) (not related to above)

Still reading The Girls, and still waiting for Alexander Hamilton to be available again. Still listening to Faithful Place on audio and I figured out the killer or DID I? I have two and a half hours to go, so there must be another twist… Also I bought Seth The Handmaid’s Tale and It Can’t Happen Here for Father’s Day.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

Had to change my appointment because of a network screening at the office. One week to go.

Go to the gym 30 times (22/30)

Only managed one day this week.

15 minutes of standing for every hour sitting at work

Stood for about 3 hours this week. I moved into an actual office (I have an office mate) but I’m no longer sitting in a cube farm. It feels great.

Floss every day

I managed about 3 days.

Eat vegetables one time a week (24/52)

Yes. Ugh.

Week 23 of 52

Read to the boys every day.

We got a Scholastic order in this week and the boys were so excited to read. I love that while they do get a fair amount of screen time, they truly love being read to. Big hit this week was The Pout-Pout Fish. I’m not sure how I feel about the forced kissing, however.

Read 25 books (20/25) (not related to above)

I finally finished Claire Dewitt and the City of the Dead, highly recommend.  Still reading The Girls, and still waiting for Alexander Hamilton to be available again. I started Faithful Place on audio and I’m already hooked in. I love Tana French.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

I did some transferring from high interest rate cards to lower interest rate cards, and I’m cutting up my high interest rate cards. Lesson learned.

Get a mammogram

Had to change my appointment because of a network screening at the office. Two weeks wait again.

Go to the gym 30 times (21/30)

Only managed one day this week. Seth wondered why I didn’t go more.  This end of school, new school for Moses, crazy job thing has my stress levels quite possibly at an all time high. I need to get to acupuncture.

15 minutes of standing for every hour sitting at work

Only stood for about an hour this week. Ugh.

Floss every day

I think I flossed once.

Eat vegetables one time a week (23/52)

Drinking a smoothie as I write this.

Week 22 of 52

Read to the boys every day.

Work continues to be crazy and in an effort to get the boys to bed we’ve had to skip story time a couple nights. The boys HATE skipping story time. I’m doing my best! This whole working parent thing ain’t easy. Finally got a complete copy of The Nine Lives of Rotten Ralph (it was the book from the library that was missing the last 3 pages, and my referral dollars from here paid for a used copy!) and the boys love it.

Read 25 books (19/25) (not related to above)

Still listening to Claire Dewitt and the City of the Dead which I’m still loving. Still reading The Girls, and still waiting for Alexander Hamilton to be available again.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

I have a plan, I probably won’t get to 45% this year, but I will make a little progress. I was able to pay off a couple of big doctor bills that had been haunting me and there are a few more that I’m scared to open…

Get a mammogram

This week! Unless I have to change my appointment again.

Go to the gym 30 times (20/30)

I went on Monday and today. I wanted to go yesterday too, but did some day drinking instead. BALANCE.

15 minutes of standing for every hour sitting at work

I didn’t use my standing desk a single day this week. Oops.

Floss every day

Hmmm, I think I need to get back on this.

Eat vegetables one time a week (22/52)

I literally had to go drink a smoothie to check this one off because I couldn’t remember eating a single vegetable. (Once I thought long and hard about it, I remember I had some roasted carrots, but seriously, I am the worst when it comes to eating vegetables.)

Break phone addiction (phone off at 10pm at night and away when I’m not taking pictures or checking email at home)

My phone is having a hard time holding a charge. I wonder what it would be like to just… not charge it once it’s dead? HAHA. JK. That isn’t happening.

Week 21 of 52

Read to the boys every day.

Every day except one late work night.  Dooby Dooby Moo has been the big favorite this week.

Oh guys, this year has been bad. I’m so stressed about money. Always.

Get a mammogram

I had to change my appointment, for two weeks from now.

Go to the gym 30 times (18/30)

I went on a week day! I’ve negotiated one day a week where I leave the house super early and Seth does the entire morning routine so I can go to the gym. It fucking sucks. I hate getting ready at the gym. I do, however, like getting my steps in so early in the day.

I also went on Saturday and Sunday and tried the eliptical machine. I used to love it and I forgot how fun it is, it seems like such a better work out than the treadmill. I feel like I’ll probably switch to it if I can make it to the gym three times a week.

15 minutes of standing for every hour sitting at work

I’m not sure how much I stood this week, I lost my post it, but I know it was about 6 hours total.

Floss every day

Missed a couple.

Eat vegetables one time a week (21/52)

Smoothie for breakfast, carrots for snack. So many carrots.

Break phone addiction (phone off at 10pm at night and away when I’m not taking pictures or checking email at home)

Get this, I talk on the phone on my way home to work to actual real life friends. How fucking weird is that?  I think that contact has helped me cut my twitter and Facebook exposure down to a minimum. And I don’t really miss it.

Week 20 of 52

Week 20! Wow, I’m kind of surprised how fast this year is going. It seems to slog right on by.

Read to the boys every day.

I missed one day because of a late night at work. We went to the library on Saturday and got some new Rotten Ralph books. They delight the boys. I enjoy them as well. One was missing the last 1o pages, so Moses and I wrote a note to the librarian. I’ll try to upload it to Insta soon.

Read 25 books (19/25) (not related to above)

I’m in a major rut.  But I just started Claire Dewitt and the City of the Dead which I’m loving. Still reading The Girls, and had to put Alexander Hamilton on request again because, damn 29 hours is a long book.

Reduce debt to 45% of credit available (the amount of debt I’m carrying is my biggest stressor)

BLERG.

Get a mammogram

Next week I’ll finally be able to check this off.

Go to the gym 30 times (15/30)

Two days! In a row! Which is feeling pretty ouchie right now. I’ve got to figure out how to get to the gym during the week.
